CM attacks Naidu for 'false' propaganda against welfare schemes

ANANTAPUR: Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has come down heavily on TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu, saying the former chief minister is unleashing fake economists and constitutional experts to mislead the people through a “false narrative.”

Addressing a public meeting at Kavali in Nellore district on Friday, the chief minister said some “suspended” chartered accountants are masquerading as economists and constitutional experts at the behest of Naidu and his ‘foster son’ Pawan Kalyan. “They are participating in debates to spread false messages against the state’s welfare programmes.”

“The fakes and the Naidu-supported retired bureaucrats are campaigning over TV channels that investment on welfare schemes is sheer waste,” he said and added that their main aim was to defame the government and mislead the people.

Jagan Reddy appealed to the people to be cautious of Naidu’s moves. “Two retired bureaucrats and the foster son (Pawan Kalyan) are parroting Naidu’s words and taking the people for a ride once again.”

“Naidu cheated every section of the society during his tenure as chief minister. “If he comes to power again, he will stop all welfare schemes and loot the public money as is his wont. Naidu’s friendly media is aiding him in the same way as the demons helped Ravanasura,” the chief minister said.

Stated the CM, “While the government spent over Rs 2,10,000 crore for various welfare schemes in the last four years for raising the status of the poor, a jealous Naidu and his gang of robbers were having heart-burns and using fakes to mislead the public.”

“Naidu is unable to digest the government’s decision to distribute house sites to the poor in Zone 5,” Jagan said and observed that it was fighting a war unleashed by “pro-capitalist Naidu, who wants to usurp power by hook or by crook.”

“The poor can’t survive and they would be driven out if Naidu comes to power again,” the chief minister said, asking the people not to believe in such motivated campaigns. “If you feel you have benefitted from the welfare schemes, you should become the YSRCP soldiers and teach a fitting lesson to Naidu and his foster son in the next elections,” he appealed to the people.

BJP DIG AT POLICE

Meanwhile, the BJP took a serious dig at the police for “behaving in an unethical manner” while detaining protesters at Kavali. A photo of a BJP leader whose head was caught between the legs of police went viral on social media after a group of BJP leaders staged a protest against the state government over its “apathetic policies”, during the CM’s visit to Kavali.
