TD performs Bhoomi Pooja for Maha Nadu at Vemagiri
KAKINADA: Telugu Desam leaders on Friday performed Bhoomi Pooja at Vemagiri in Rajamahendravaram Rural assembly constituency, where the party’s Maha Nadu will be held on May 27 and May 28.
Speaking on the occasion, state TD president K. Achannaidu said 15,000 representatives of the Telugu Desam Party will be arriving at the venue from every nook and corner of the state.
“So far, TD has organised 99 meetings marking the birth centenary of our party founder N.T. Rama Rao. The 100th meeting as part of Maha Naidu will mark the culmination of the centenary celebrations of our great leader,” the party state president underlined.
He announced that 15 lakh party members will attend the Maha Nadu meeting.
Former TD state president K. Kala Venikatrao accused Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of mortgaging the self-respect of Telugus to Delhi. “If the Telugu people want to get back their reputation, they should vote for Telugu Desam in the forthcoming assembly general elections,” Venkatrao maintained.
He pointed out that all sections of people, irrespective of caste, creed and religion, are facing hardships under Jagan’s rule.
Those present at the Bhoomi Pooja included former minister Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao, Rajamahendravaram Rural MLA Gorantla Buchaiah Chowdary, Rajamahendravaram Urban MLA Adireddy Bhavani and Bonda Uma.
Senior TD leaders Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Gorantla and R. Chandrasekhara Reddy are among those who will draft various resolutions that will be passed at the Maha Nadu.
