Toilets found locked in Guntur Govt Hospital OP wing
VIJAYAWADA: Guntur Government General Hospital Superintendent Dr. Y. Kiran Kumar conducted a surprise check of the hospital on Tuesday. He found 21 toilets meant for patients in the outpatient department of GGH locked.
The superintendent broke the lock and instructed officials to get the toilets ready for patients within two days. He warned that stern action will be taken against officials concerned if they are found negligent in rendering services to patients.
Dr. Kiran Kumar underlined that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is working hard for providing good services at government hospitals on par with corporate hospitals. But due to laxity of some people, the government’s efforts are getting undermined.
The superintendent recalled that an infant had died due to a rat bite in GGH. Hence, officials should be cautious and avoid such incidents in the future.
He instructed doctors to conduct tests on HIV patients. He asked them to restore the electronic display system that played visuals to spread awareness on AIDS / HIV.
