DC Impact: Social Boycott on 50 Families Lifted in Komanpally

NIZAMABAD: The social boycott of 50 families in Komanpally village of Armoor mandal has been lifted on Saturday after the revenue officials along with police visited the village and solved the problem of a land dispute, following a report published in these columns.

Armoor circle inspector of police B. Suresh Babu, along with police personnel, visited the village and told kirana shop owners and other establishments not to refuse selling of goods and other essential commodities to victim families of Yadav and Naikpod communities, as it is an offence. Revenue officials spoke to the village sarpanch and other elders over the social boycott issue.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, B. Poshetty, a member of the village development committee, said that the social boycott was lifted in Komanpally village. “The families which were boycotted are doing their daily routine works as usual. The villagers are cooperating with the Naikpod and Yadav community members,” he said.

Meanwhile, district leaders of Yadav and Naikpod communities visited the village on Saturday and instilled confidence among the victim families and promised them all support. They said that they would take the matter to the notice of the state-level officials.

The circle inspector said they would conduct counselling for the Yadav, Naikpod community families, VDC members and elected representatives of the village. “Social boycott is not a visible offence but we are trying to settle the issue amicably”, he said, adding that they had not registered a case so far.
