Kakinada: After three days of heavy rain in the erstwhile East and West Godavari districts, there was less rain on Sunday. But, due to heavy rains in upstream areas, the Godavari receives excess water at Bhadrachalam. The people of the Chinturu agency area in Kunavaram, Chinturu, V.R. Puram and other mandals are afraid of the floods again. They said that if water levels increased in the Godavari at Bhadrachalam, they would again face the flood threat. They said that they would not be able to face the floods as they had faced hardships for the past 60 days due to floods.
Meanwhile, a huge tree was uprooted along the Jaggampeta-Peddapuram road due to heavy rains. Traffic was at a standstill for some time on the route.
