Operation Amanat: RPF retrieves lost items worth Rs 1.4 cr
Hyderabad: Under its luggage retrieval ‘Operation Amanat’, Railway Protection Force (RPF) Secunderabad division retrieved around 676 belongings of passengers worth Rs 1.4 crore till August 2023, a press release said on Tuesday.
In all of the 676 incidents, the RPF could return the left behind items, including mobile phones, laptops, purses, bags, and documents. “This is an increase of 3.7 per cent in value of passenger belongings compared to the corresponding month of previous year,” Senior Divisional Security Commissioner (SDSC) Secunderabad division stated.
“RPF personnel play a vital role in securing passenger leftover luggage and handing over to the concerned passenger under the operation,” SDSC commissioner Debashmita Chattopadhyay said.
