Hyderabad: A woman, hailing from Pondicherry, identified as Sarvana Priya, 25, working for a pharma company in Hyderabad, died under mysterious circumstances in a hotel at Chandranaik Thanda. Priya along with her friend Srihari Ramesh, 25, have checked in on Tuesday night. Srihari, who runs a business in Chennai, had come to the city to meet Priya.
After checking in, they started having alcohol in their room. Soon Srihari started vomiting severely, due to which he rushed to a nearby private hospital and got himself admitted.
Meanwhile, Priya also started vomiting, but she remaine din the hotel room. On Wednesday 2 pm, when Srihari got discharged from the hospital and returned to the hotel, he found Priya in an unconscious state and called for ambulance. The ambulance rushed to the spot and declared her dead.
Alerted by the hotel staff, police reached the spot and shifted the body for postmortem examination. The police have registered a suspicious death case and stated investigation.
Inquiries revealed that on Wednesday morning, Priya called the hotel reception and informed that they are extending their stay. She also informed the staff that she placed an order for food on a food delivery app and asked the hotel staff to get it to her room. However, she did not collect the food.
Madhapur police said they have informed her parents. Further investigation is under way.
