HYDERABAD: Hours after Deccan Chronicle on Monday published a photo of a defunct public toilet on Lower Tank Bund, the civic authorities demolished it.
The toilet belonging to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) was located by the footpath and was not operational. It was emanating a foul odour and there was also trash around it. Deccan Chronicle carried a photograph of the toilet with the caption: A defunct GHMC toilet at Lower Tank Bund has not been dismantled yet by the authorities.
The dismantling of the toilet has paved the way for the area to be cleaned up and appears to have put an end to the problem of foul smell.
