Margasira Masotsavam Starts at Kanaka Mahalakshmi Temple
Visakhapatnam: Margasira Masotsavam commenced on Tuesday on a grand note at the Kanaka Mahalakshmi Ammavari Devasthanam in Kalpavalli Burujupeta of north Andhra Pradesh. The masotsavam will continue till January 11, attracting an estimated six lakh devotees seeking the blessings of Goddess Kanaka Mahalakshmi.
Temple authorities have made all arrangements, including provision of drinking water, medical camps, and a temporary police station.
Andhra Pradesh State Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has arranged free buses for the convenience of pilgrims, including Gajuwaka, Simhachalam and Madhurawada. Authorities have also arranged free autos from the New Road Junction for disabled and mothers with infants.
Temple administration has planned a series of cultural and religious events, including Vedic Sabha on December 31, Archaka Sadassu and Nadaswara concert on January 2, and a grand chariot procession from Ambika Bagh Ram Temple to the Ammavari Temple on January 6.
The last day of Margasira Masotsavam will witness a Maha Annadana programme in the afternoon of January 11 on the Sri Jagannath Swamy Temple premises, followed by Sahasra Kalasabhishekam for Goddess involving 1,008 kalashas at 4:00 p.m.
