Police tourist outpost starts at Pithapuram
KAKINADA: Kakinada district superintendent of police M. Ravindranath Babu on Sunday opened a Tourist Kiosk near Kukkuteswara Swamy Temple at Pithapuram, which is known as Pada Gaya.
The SP said the Kakinada district is famous for its temple towns which are popular with tourists. The police department has thus decided to set up tourist kiosks in these temple towns.
Four police personnel will be posted at these kiosks around the clock in three shifts. They will keep an eye on tourists and others. They ensure the safety of tourists when they get into the river or sea for a swim. Police will also keep an eye on miscreants who may try to take advantage of tourists or others in the temple towns.
Ravindranath said police personnel at the outpost will further provide information to tourists about the significance of the temples or towns. They will help tourists reach the temples or other places they may like to visit.
