Amalapuram MP promises Coconut Board in AP
KAKINADA: Amalapuram MP Chinta Anuradha on Tuesday said she is making all efforts to set up the Coconut Board in Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district, apart from opening a purchasing centre of National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation (NAFED) in the area to purchase coconut products.
Participating as chief guest in the District Agriculture Advisory Board and Irrigation Advisory Board meeting in Amalapuram, Anuradha said she is seeking a hike in coconut prices and shifting of Executive Engineer (Drains) office to Amalapuram.
The MP said compensation will be paid for damaged horticulture crops by taking district as a unit. The input subsidy will also be increased.
She instructed officials to remove weeds from canals and drains and protect irrigation water from pollution. She asked officials to sort out the non-finance issues.
Anuradha said subsidies will be given to aqua farmers, while taking action against those aqua farmers who violate guidelines for raising fish.
