Kakinada: An RTC bus going to Bhadrachalam from Visakhapatnam overturned at a turn near Odia Camp under Mothugudem police station limits of Chinturu division in Alluri Sitharama Raju district on Tuesday.
Three passengers were injured and they were given treatment at a hospital, run by APGenco at Donkarayi of Y.Ramavaram mandal. There were 10 passengers in the bus. After bus overturned, the passengers broke open emergency exits and came out.
Madhurawada RTC depot manager T. Uma Maheswara Reddy told Deccan Chronicle that the bus left Visakhapatnam on Monday night for Bhadrachalam and in the early hours of Tuesday the bus skidded and overturned at a turning as it was raining heavily.
Drivers of the bus took the three injured passengers in another bus coming from Vijayawada and gave treatment in the hospital. Mothugudem sub- inspector G. Gopala Rao said that remaining passengers were sent to their destinations by another bus. Mothugudem police registered a case.
