AP Food Commission wants prompt ration delivery

Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh Food Commission member B. Kanta Rao on Thursday ordered officials concerned to ensure that there is no delay in distribution of rations by mobile dispensing vehicles.

“Strict action will be taken in case of malpractices in ration distribution,” he warned.

Kanta Rao, along with district civil supplies officer Surya Prakash Rao inspected several ration depots and ration distribution vehicles, including at Revidi and Reddypally villages in Padmanabham mandal. They also inspected godowns and registers.

The food commission member expressed his displeasure over the register not being properly maintained at the Revidi depot. He spoke to many beneficiaries during his inspection. He asked villagers to lodge complaints promptly in case they face any problems in getting their rations. He assured that immediate action will be taken in this regard.

Kanta Rao also inspected the anganwadi centre, primary school, and mid-day meal centre and made some suggestions.
