Bala Yogini Sambhavi Reappears After 13 years

Kurnool: Bala Yogini Sambhavi has re-emerged after a 13-year break in Mahanandi mandal, aligning her return with the Kartika month celebrations.

Local people participated in special pujas with Sambhavi at the Suryanandi and Siva Temple near the Nandyal bus stand.

Bala Yogini Sambhavi has been famous for prophecies since a five-year old. She had attracted wide attention in 2009 and 2010 in Suryanandi. Her upbringing had been unconventional. Rather than attending school, she had been proclaimed a Yogini.

Her parents, in particular her mother Usharani, claim she is a reincarnation of a devotee of Dalai Lama. This had led to a controversy. In 2007, Jana Vignana Vedika (JVV), an organisation promoting scientific thinking, filed a petition with AP State Human Rights Commission protesting that Sambhavi is being deprived of a normal childhood due to her involvement in religious rituals.

In 2010, commission chairman B. Subhashan Reddy ordered that Sambhavi should attend school, instead of participating in spiritual discourses. He directed the then Collector to enforce this decision. However, Sambhavi's mother rejected the commission's directive, asserting her daughter's right to continue her chosen path.

Subsequently, the family vanished from the district, only for Sambhavi to reappear recently in Mahanandi area, evoking intrigue and interest among local people.

Sambhavi announced that Veera Brahmam, a revered seer, would be reborn as Veerabhoga Vasantarayalu, even as his prophecies are proving true. Further, she said Brahmam Gari Kalagnanam, a collection of the seer’s prophecies, is being translated into English. She stated that she had been residing in Himachal Pradesh, devoting her time learning Sanskrit and Vedas.
