Jagtial people, farmers protest against state over master plan, recreation zone

Warangal: The people of several colonies, along with the farmers of various villages, expressed their protest against the government by drawing rangolis in front of their houses demanding the state government to stop the master plan and recreation zone on the occasion of Bhogi here in Jagtial district on Saturday.

Farmers in Jagtial mandal’s Narsingapur, Thimmapur, Tippannapet, Mothe, Hasnabad, and Lingampet villages drew rangolis in front of their houses, demanding that the MLA halt the master plan and recreation zone and that the state government exclude their villages from the master plan.

They alleged that they were going to lose valuable lands and their livelihood if the state government tried to grab their lands in the name of the establishment of recreation and industrial zones.

People questioned why the government wanted to establish an industrial zone in the middle of the houses by grabbing farmers’ lands when there was government land of 220.4 acres in Narsingapur and survey number 363 in Thimmapur.

The government must reverse its decision to include the villages in the master plan and restrict the plan to the Jagtial Municipality. They demanded that Dr S. Sanjay Kumar, MLA, take the initiative and either exclude the villages or establish recreation and industrial zones on government land without encroaching on farmers’ lands.

If the government behaves stubbornly, along with the various people’s organisations, the movement will be intensified against the state government, they warned.
