HYDERABAD: The Telangana High Court has quashed an FIR registered against Cheera Srikanth of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. He was booked for conducting a Shobha Yatra allegedly in violation of terms of permission.
The Market police had registered an FIR on December 29 last, charging that the Shobha Yatra had caused nuisance and inconvenience to the public by obstructing traffic and that a DJ system was used to play loud music.
The FIR had been registered against the nagar samyojak of the Trust and members, in addition to a BJP state general secretary, the DJ operator and others. Senior counsel Mahesh Raje appeared for the petitioner and submitted that the case was registered without prima facie evidence.
