'Historic Blunder' by Opposition to Snub Ram Mandir Invite: MP CM Warns
Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh chief minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday cautioned the Opposition leaders that their decision to spurn the invitation to January 12 Ram Mandir consecration ceremony may prove a ‘historic blunder’ for them and urged them to reconsider it.
Laying the foundation stone of the multi-disciplinary zonal training institute of railways in Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh, Mr Yadav said that the Opposition can indulge in politics whenever they like, but they should not even entertain the idea of skipping the historic event of Ram temple consecration ceremony.
“I would like to suggest to the Opposition leaders who have rejected the invite to the January 22 Ayodhya ceremony not to deprive them of witnessing a historic event. They would hurt the sentiments of the majority in the country if they spurn the invitation to the Ayodhya ceremony. They had earlier taken wrong decisions. But, it may prove a historic blunder for them if they reject the invitation to attend the ceremony”, Mr Yadav said.
Mr Yadav warned that the Opposition leaders who rejected the invitation to Ram temple consecration ceremony would invite the wrath of the majority in the country.
He said that the 500-year-old ‘tainted history’ is going to change on January 22 when the ceremonial installation of the idol of Lord Ram will be done at his birthplace in Ayodhya.
Even a foreign country like Mauritius has declared January 22 as a national holiday to give an opportunity to the people of the country to witness the event, he said.
But, some people in India are creating an embarrassing situation by announcing not to accept the invitation to the ceremony, he lamented.
The people and the present generation will certainly take note of the fact that these leaders refused to attend the Ram temple function, he said.
“Politics will go one, there will be differences, but it is unfortunate that culture is being rejected”, Mr Yadav remarked.
