Nanthancode murder case: Cadell Jeansen Raja blames it on father's character

The police took Cadell to his house at Nanthencode to collect evidence on Thursday morning.

THIRUVANAnTHAPURAM: Cadell Jeansen Raja, accused of killing four members of his family, has told the police that he had attempted to poison them earlier. His frustration over his father’s character had also provoked him to commit the crime. The police took Cadell to his house at Nanthencode to collect evidence on Thursday morning. The remains of a chemical, suspected to be zinc phosphate, that he had procured to poison his family members, were also recovered from the spot. Cadell told the police that he had serious differences with his father’s character and that though he told his mother about it, she ignored it.

This and the neglect shown towards him for being a non-achiever had created a grudge in him towards his parents, Raja Thankam and Jean Padma. Cadell also said he murdered his sister Carol as he did not want her to suffer without her parents. But the police are also probing whether there was any other provocation related to properties. During the evidence collection, Cadell explained how he committed the murders one by one. The lotion and mop used to clean the floor after each murder were also recovered from the house. The police would take him to the shop from where he purchased the chemical substance and cleaning materials. He would be also taken to the hotel in Chennai where he stayed after the murder. Cadell will also be subjected to further psychiatric analysis to determine his mental condition. Police feel that he was mentally sound and that he had tried to mislead them by speaking about astral projection.
