Kothagudem: Thati Mahalaxmi, 25, daughter of former MLA of Aswaraopet, Thati Venkateswarlu, died by suicide at her home in Sarapaka in Burgumpahad mandal on Thursday.
When family members tried to wake her up in the morning they got no response from her. They broke the doors and found Mahalaxmi hanging from the ceiling fan. The family members immediately shifted her to a private hospital in Bhadrachalam but the doctors declared her brought dead.
Mahalaxmi had completed her MBBS degree and was preparing for post-graduation course. Thati Venkateswarlu, who received the information, rushed to Sarapaka.
The police inspected the spot where the incident happened and sent the body for post-mortem. The former MLA is in shock. Former MP Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy tried to console him.
Pinapaka MLA Rega Kantha Rao, Bhadradri district chairperson Koram Kanakaiah, TRS leaders Tellam Venkat Rao, Krishna Reddy, DCCB director T. Brahmaiah. Burgumpahad mandal parishad president Gosu Madhu and former ZPTC Anji called the former MLA following the tragic incident. A case has been registered under CrPC of 174 and investigation is underway. The former MLA has a son and a daughter.
