Pawan Kalyan Stooping Low' Through Comments Against Women: Women Commission Chief
VIJAYWADA: AP state Women Commission chairperson Vasireddy Padma has claimed that the commission issued notice to Jana Sena founder Pawan Kalyan for his “objectionable” comments against Volunteers including women.
“He had said anti-social elements were behind missing women but he did not respond to the notice. APSWC will not tolerate insults to women and will initiate stern action,” she claimed.
Padma was addressing the Women Dignity Day programme at the Velagapudi state secretariat on Friday.
She said trolling on social media platforms against family members of leaders like chief minister Jagan Reddy, Telugu Desam chief Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena founder Pawan Kalyan is objectionable. Attacks on women on social media increased overall, she said.
Recalling Pawan Kalyan’s statement that 18,000 girls were missing in AP, she asked how he could speak without any evidence and hence notices were issued to him.
The secretariat employees ‘honoured’ Padma. Women's commission members Vineetha, Gajjala Lakshmi, secretariat women's union leaders Sulochana, Susmita, Sunitha and others participated in the programme.
