Polls: Vikarabad SP pushes for greater vigil at district
HYDERABAD: Following the forthcoming General Elections in Telangana state, district police officials have started concentrating on law and order issues and the Superintendent of Police (SP) directed all station house officers (SHOs) to be vigilant to keep track of the regular movements of history sheeters who have criminal past history.
Vikarabad Superintendent of Police (SP) N. Koti Reddy on Thursday conducted a review meeting with the police officials and asked the SHOs to identify sensitive, hypersensitive places as precautionary measures to prevent untoward incidents. “After identifying the sensitive areas in respective police limits, the SHOs must keep a vigil on history sheeters and persons with criminal pasts. Based on the regular activities of miscreants, police will detain them under PD Act,” the SP briefed.
Koti Reddy also directed the police officers to bind over the history sheeters before the Revenue officials as preventive measures to prevent untoward incidents in villages. “The police officials will collect data on miscreants who created disturbances during previous elections and keep a vigil on them. For this purpose, a special team of police will monitor the miscreants,” the SP said.
Meanwhile, the district SP planned to organise coordination meetings with all government departments to review the ensuing General Elections.
