KAKINADA: Two persons – Madala Suresh (40-auto driver) and Kalidindi Teja Varma (29- a volunteer) of Krapa Chintalapudi village in Mummidivaram Mandal of Dr B.R.Ambedkar Konaseema District have drowned in the famous tourist place Pamuleru rivulet at Maredumilli mandal of Alluri Sitarama Raju district on Sunday.
Six persons went to the rivulet and stepped into the rivulet to swim without considering the cautions of the locals. Meanwhile, the two were drowning in the rivulet, the remaining four persons were alerted and brought to the shore and took them to Area Hospital at Rampachodavaram by their vehicles.
The doctors confirmed their deaths at the hospital. Maredumilli police registered a case. The police and tourist department officials erected cautioning flexes at the rivulet that nobody should step into the rivulet as many of the tourists drowned in it. But these six tourists did not heed their cautions and warnings, said the locals.
