VIJAYAWADA: Vijayawada West MLA and former minister Vellampalli Srinivasa Rao, YSRC West constituency and Vijayawada Urban District Arya Vysya Sangam jointly organised a ‘Walk with Vellampalli 2K Marathon’ for the development of the West constituency on the Crombay Road at Bhavanipuram in Vijayawada on Sunday. The walk was organised on the occasion of Vellampalli’s birthday which falls on August 15 and it began with playing sports and games and the party activists and people’s representatives enthusiastically participated.
Minister for housing Jogi Ramesh, MLC Md Ruhulla, Vijayawada Central MLA and AP Planning Board Commission vice chairman and Central MLA Malladi Vishnu, Vijayawada Municipal Corporation mayor Rayana Bhagya Lakshmi and others walked with Vellampalli. As part of the walk, minister Jogi Ramesh and MLAs interacted with people and enquired about their problems.
Minister Jogi Ramesh unveiled former chief minister Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy’s bronze statue on the premises of YSR Park, performed cake cutting and garlanded the statue. Minister Ramesh said that former minister Vellampalli Srinivasa Rao would win a third time as MLA from the West constituency as he did a lot for the development of his constituency as well as Vijayawada city. He claimed that with the efforts made by the former minister, the people of the constituency decided to vote for YSRC and present their gift to MLA Vellampalli for the third time.
Vijayawada Central MLA Malladi Vishnu said that his colleague MLA Vellampalli Srinivasa Rao was thoughtful about the development of the constituency and the welfare of the people. The ‘Walk with Vellampalli 2K Marathon’ organised by the party has proven the dedicated work of the MLA, he said.
