NIT-Warangal to host Isro space week
Warangal: NIT Warangal has been chosen to be the state regional centre by the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (Shar) of the Indian Space Research Organisation for this year’s ‘World Space Week’ to be celebrated between October 4 and 10.
For Telangana region, Shar will be organising this space week at NIT Warangal during October 6 and 7.
During these two days, several events like Quiz and drawing competitions with the theme ‘Space Science and Technology, Rocketry, Satellites and Interplanetary Missions, Poster Competition with the theme ‘Exploring Outer Worlds in Space’, Science Fair with the theme ‘Space Science and Technology, are scheduled to be conducted.
NIT Warangal Director G Rama Chandra Reddy said these competitions help stimulate the young minds and to reap benefits for future generations. “The main motive is to inculcate the benefits of Indian Space Programme to the majority of scientific, academic and the general public. We will extend support to SDSC by providing all the facilities available at NIT Warangal for the success of the event,” he said.
These competitions are open to different categories of students across the state ranging from school, Intermediate level and engineering graduate level.
