Stage set for commencement of Army Recruitment Rally from today

34,000 youth aspiring for Army jobs in Guntur and Rayalaseema Zones

NELLORE: Youth belonging to Guntur and Rayalaseema zones are expected to participate in large numbers in the Agni Veer Army Recruitment Rally to be held at the AC Subba Reddy Sports Stadium in Nellore from September 15 to 26.

Nellore district SP Ch Vijaya Rao said the rally is being held for the first time in Nellore and 34,000 youth are expected to turn for the recruitment rally with 2,500 to attend each day.

After inspecting the arrangements for the event at the stadium here on Wednesday, Vijaya Rao said they are deputing 150 policemen for security purposes. He advised them to follow the instructions of Army Officers.

He examined the functioning of CC Cameras along with Guntur Army Recruitment Officer Colonel Shahajad Kohli, Additional SP (AR) Srinivasa Rao, Traffic DSP Subhan and AR DSP Gandhi.

The SP also reviewed the preparations for the rally.

He asked the officials concerned to issue tokens to the youth coming for selection on a first come first served basis on the premises of Government General Hospital located opposite to the stadium.

Vijaya Rao underlined the need to guide the job aspirants using public address system and ensure drinking water availability.

He told the police officers to coordinate with the Army officers while hinting about disciplinary action in case of any negligence.

Speaking on the occasion, Col. Kohli said the police and army personnel should work like brothers in a family for the success of the recruitment rally.

While advising the officials to treat candidates coming for selection as their own brothers or children, he said medical teams should be present round the clock.

He made it clear that selections are strictly based on talent and everyone should ensure justice to the participants.

Col. Kohli said they have already issued admission cards to the applicants and they should be allowed into GGH premises (Holding Area) after examining their papers and admission cards.

“Mobile phones are not allowed into the venue and the admission is only to the candidates who are clean shaven. Police should make arrangements for running races outside the stadium in case of rains,” the Colonel said.

Additional SP (AR) Srinivasa Rao said they would allow 3,000 candidates into the GGH while pointing to 10 compartments arranged in the premises to accommodate 300 candidates in each compartment.

Candidates will be allowed into the stadium after midnight 12 on Wednesday. Army Recruitment Directors Colonel Deepak Kumar, Colonel Sumaya and SETNEL CEO Pullaiah were present among others.
