Telangana to Get Rain for Two Days, IMD Issues Yellow Alert

Hyderabad: Following a brief respite, the state is expected to receive moderate rainfall in the coming days. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the state for the next two days, signaling the likelihood of light to moderate rains or thundershowers at numerous locations.

According to the IMD, a low-pressure area formed over the northern Bay of Bengal on Wednesday and is currently situated over the northwest and
adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal. The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level, tilting southwestward with height, and is expected to intensify over the next 24 hours. It will then move across south Odisha and south Chhattisgarh over the next three days.

As a result of these weather systems, the state is expected to receive light to moderate rains for the next six days, with the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning in some areas, leading to the issuance of a yellow warning for three days.

Over the next 48 hours, the city can expect an overcast sky with periods of light to moderate rainfall or thundershowers, occasionally with intense spells. Surface winds will predominantly be north-westerlies, with speeds ranging from 6 to 10 kmph.
