CM Jagan resolves issue of Christian graveyards

The government has issued orders establishing burial grounds wherever necessary

VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy assured Christian community leaders that lands will be allotted to them for graveyards.

The community elders and representatives called on the CM at his camp office in Tadepalli on Friday night. They appreciated that all eligible persons are receiving benefits of welfare schemes without any bias. The honorarium given to pastors is also very helpful.

The community leaders requested Jagan Mohan Reddy to protect church properties, solve the issue related to the shortage of burial grounds, besides exemption from payment of municipal tax on schools and service-oriented properties run by churches.

The Chief Minister told the Christian elders that the government has received reports on Christian burial grounds. The government has issued orders establishing burial grounds wherever necessary.
