Govardhana Puja and Karthika Deepotsavam at Hare Krishna Golden Temple
Hyderabad: Devotees and visitors gathered to partake in the Sri Govardhana Puja, Annakutotsavam, and Karthika Deepotsavam at the Hare Krishna Golden Temple here on Tuesday.
The day commenced with the Go-puja (cow worship) where devotees offered Krishna Prasadam to the cows and calves in the temple goshala. A replica of Govardhana Hill, crafted from 350 kg of vegetarian cake and an array of food items, symbolising sacred ponds and pilgrimage sites, was made.
Kirtans, aartis, 'Pallaki Utsavam' to honour Srila Prabhupada and Sri Nitai Gauranga took place followed by Sri Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa Prabhuji's discourse that delved into the significance of Lord Krishna's Govardhana Lila.
The Karthika Deepotsavam commenced with the lighting of the lamps and a grand Damodara Aarti to Sri Yashoda Damodar. A video animation depicting Lord Krishna lifting Govardhana Hill enthralled the audience, followed by a sumptuous Annakuta Prasadam.
Hare Krishna Movement-Hyderabad president Sri Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa Prabhuji, said the Govardhana Lila illustrated the Lord's boundless mercy accessible through sincere devotion.
