National laurels for TSRedco’s energy conservation initiatives
Hyderabad: Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation (TSREDCO), the state nodal and designated agency for renewable energy, received a certificate of merit among states in the Group 2 category.
TSRedco chairman Y. Sathish Reddy, vice-chairman and managing director Janaiah received the coveted award from Union minister for new and renewable energy R.K. Singh at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi as part of the 32nd National Energy Conservation week celebrations on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Sathish Reddy said, “We could win the honour because of the diligence with which many energy conservation programs are implemented by Telangana state. In order to ensure a sustainable future, many initiatives are being undertaken to reduce carbon emissions.”
He added that Telangana was the first state in the country to include ‘energy conservation building code’ in the Municipal Act. He said that they are spreading awareness about consumption of electricity to the required levels across industries.
