Visakhapatnam: GVMC commissioner C.M. Saikanth Verma inaugurated the 4th Visakha Organic Mela 2023 on Thursday, organised jointly by Andhra Pradesh Cow-Based Organic Farmers and Farmer Empowerment Organisation at the Andhra University Engineering College Grounds.
The commissioner witnessed the puja performed to a cow on the occasion. He also visited various stalls displaying organic products, such as honey, ghee, oil, jaggery, pulses and grains, leaves, beets, vegetables, handloom clothes and food items.
The organic mela will continue till December 17.
“After Corona, many people are using organic products to take care of their health. I have come to know about the various organic products displayed here,” said a visitor Padma.
“If such fairs are organised frequently in Visakhapatnam, people will be able to buy organic products and lead a healthy lifestyle,” said Madhava Rao, another visitor.
