Spiritual fervour grips Tirumala with brahmotsavams at two TTD temples

Tirupati: Spiritual fervour has gripped the temple city of Tirupati with two major temples, under the fold of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), organising the annual Brahmotsavams.

The deity of Lord Kalyana Venkateswara was taken out in a procession on ‘Kalpavriksha Vahanam’ at Srinivasa Mangapuram, the deity of Lord Kapileswara was taken out in a grand procession on the ‘Makara Vahanam’ at Kapila Theertham here on Tuesday morning.

Lord Kalyana Venkateswara in the Alankara of Rajamannar flanked by his two consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi was taken on the finely decked Kalpavriksha Vahanam at Srinivasa Mangapuram. As part of the ongoing brahmotsavams, the devotees witnessed the procession of the divine wish fulfilling tree - Kalpavriksha Vahanam.

After Kalpavriksha Vahana Seva, the processional deities were given a bath, called ‘Snapana Tirumanjanam’ in the afternoon with sandal paste, coconut, honey and milk, on the temple premises.

Viswaksena Aradhana, Punyahavachanam, Navakalasabhishekam, and Rajopacharam were also performed.

In the evening, the presiding deity was taken out in a procession on ‘Sarvabhupala Vahanam’.

At Kapila Theertham, Lord Somaskandamurthi along with his consort Kamakshi Devi was carried on the 'Makara Vahanam' in the morning. Makara happens to be the favourite vehicle of Ganga Devi, one of the consorts of Lord Shiva. Further, Snapana Tirumanjanam was performed to the Utsava deities on the temple premises. In the evening, the deity was taken out in a procession on ‘Sesha Vahanam’.
