HYDERABAD: Representatives of Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi (BGUS) on Friday reiterated their plea for directions to the forest department to provide 21 varieties of leaves that are to adorn Ganesha idols and the endowment department to come up with a publication of the procedures to perform the puja. They said this was made clear during an earlier meeting on August 28.
Dr Bhagwant Rao, secretary of BGUS, said, “We will be meeting minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, who headed the previous meeting, on Saturday to find out about the follow-up action. Till now there is no information about making available the 21 different leaves and the book on the puja procedures.”
He added “Devotees find it difficult to get the leaves so essential for the celebrations and end up paying a lot of money. The book will be helpful in performing the puja as per rituals.” Ganesh Chaturthi is on Monday and all government departments are busy with arrangements.
