Srisailam temple hundi gets Rs. 5.07 cr

Kurnool: The hundi of Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy temple in Srisailam received Rs. 5.07 crore after a 34-day break. On Thursday, temple authorities began the work of counting and registering these offerings.

S. Lavanna, the temple's executive officer, reported that devotees presented cash contributions of '5,07,46,508. The hundis featured foreign currency notes in addition to Indian rupees, including 839 US dollars, 1,115 UAE dirhams, 100 Australian dollars, 100 Malaysian ringgits, 10 Singapore dollars, and other international currencies.

According to temple officials, devotees also offered valuable metals, with 324.500 grams of gold and 10.050 kilograms of silver deposited in the hundis.
