TTD prepares for Garuda Seva on Sept 22 as part of Brahmotsavam festivities
Tirupati: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is gearing up to provide a hassle-free darshan experience to thousands of devotees during the Garuda Seva day on Sept 22, as part of the nine-day annual Brahmotsavam festivities from September 18.
TTD executive officer Dharma Reddy said all arrangements were in place to ensure a smooth Srivari Darshan for pilgrims. Chief minister Jagan Reddy would present silk robes to Lord Venkateswara Swamy on behalf of the state government on Sept 18.
Speaking to the media after an inspection of the arrangements in Tirumala, the EO said devotees would be comfortably accommodated in the galleries along the four mada streets.
“On Garuda Seva day, we are planning to accommodate nearly two lakh devotees in these galleries. Those waiting on the Inner Ring Road and Outer Ring Road will later be allowed access to the galleries through strategic entry points such as the Supatham Southwest gate, Govinda Nilayam Northwest gate and northeast gates”, the EO said.
He said the majestic Garuda Vahanam procession would commence at 7pm and extend until 2am. This extended schedule aims to facilitate Vahana darshan for the devotees. He urged the devotees to exercise patience, cooperate with the security personnel and adhere to all safety regulations.
“TTD has undertaken comprehensive arrangements for Darshan, stay, security, and sanitation. Both TTD chief vigilance and security officer Narasimha Kishore and SP Parameswara Reddy are coordinating security measures, while the TTD engineering wing is overseeing the preparations,” he stated.
