ACB court orders AC for Chandrababu in jail
Kakinada: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court has ordered that Rajahmundry Central Jail authorities provided an air-conditioner to the imprisoned TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu.
The ACB court responded to a recommendation made by a team of doctors who examined the former chief minister on Thursday and Saturday. The doctors observed that Chandrababu Naidu is suffering skin rashes dur to higher temperature and humidity. They felt an AC could mitigate the rashes.
Following the order of ACB court, the police department arranged for a movable air-conditioner.
Central Jail in-charge superintendent Rajkumar told Deccan Chronicle that the AC is being installed in the room of Chandrababu Naidu, who has been accommodated in the Sneha block of the jail.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, a team of five doctors from Rajamahendravaram Government General Hospital dealing in general medicine, dermatology, anaesthesiology, pathology and surgery examined Chandrababu Naidu.
General medicine associate professor Dr. Markandeyulu told reporters that Chandrababu Naidu appeared in a calm frame of mind when they examined him. His health condition is okay, but for his chronic skin ailment. For coming over the problem, the team of doctors suggested a cool environment for the former CM.
Dr. Markandeyulu said doctors prescribed some medicines to him. But Chandrababu Naidu informed that he has a protocol and policy of taking medicines only after consulting his family doctor.
The doctor disclosed that the current weight of Chandrababu Naidu is 67 kilos.
DIG Prisons Ravi Kiran told reporters on Saturday night that there is no need to shift Chandrababu Naidu to another government hospital, as he is suffering from no serious health condition. He said there are doctors in the Central Jail. They are examining Chandrababu Naidu three times a day.
The DIG maintained that nothing is being hid about Naidu’s health, as alleged by some people outside. He said jail authorities are taking precautions about the former CM’s health as well as security. “There is no need to worry,” he stated.
Ravi Kumar underlined that as Chandrababu Naidu is a highly privileged person, jail authorities are more cautious in dealing with matters related to him.
