BJP, RSS heavyweights to attend third edition of WHC in Bangkok
New Delhi: Stepping on the Hindutva treadle before the 2024 general elections, the BJP and the RSS heavyweights are all set to attend the third edition of the World Hindu Congress (WHC) to be held in Bangkok next month. The three-day-long conclave, beginning on November 24, is themed Jayasya Aayatnam Dharmah (Dharma, the Abode of Victory).
The BJP and the RSS leaders scheduled to address the grand show include RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, his deputy and general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale, senior RSS leader Suresh Soni, UP chief minister and mahant of Gorakhnath Peeth Yogi Adityanath and BJP Tamil Nadu unit chief K. Annamalai.
The WHC, according to the organiser, the World Hindu Foundation, is a platform for Hindus from around the world who discuss the "challenges and opportunities facing Hindu communities across the globe and seek tangible solutions for the progress and prosperity of Hindus and the betterment of humanity and the world".
It may be recalled that the BJP's Hindutva blitz before the general elections will be unleashed with the proposed consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to inaugurate the grand temple on January 22, 2024.
The global platform for Hindus to “connect, share ideas, inspire one another and impact the common good” has seven parallel thematic conferences where deliberations will be held on a wide range of topics like economics, education, media, politics, etc. and other “critical issues faced by Hindus around the world.”
The WHC is being dubbed an “expression of Hindu tenacity” and a “continuation of the quintessential and original yajnya (self-sacrifice) for the greater interest of Hindu society”.
The WHC Bangkok will also focus on areas of strategic importance to Hindus and provide avenues for collaboration among Hindu leaders, activists and thinkers for the Hindu resurgence.
Other prominent speakers to address the Bangkok event include spiritual guru Mata Amritanandmayi Devi, treasurer of Shree Ramjanambhoomi Teetha Kshetra Swami Govinddev Giri Maharaj and director of The Kerala Story Sudipto Sen.
Held every four years, the first Hindu Congress was held in 2014 in New Delhi with the theme Sangachchhadhwam Samvadadhwam (Step Together, Express Together).
