Anantapur: Debris fell from the ceiling at the family planning ward in RIMS Hospital, Kadapa, on Wednesday. Luckily, there were no patients at the time in the ward, housed in an old building.
RIMS had been using the old building to accommodate those who underwent family planning operations. Patients had complained that the building is too old with iron rods in the ceiling becoming visible and parts of ceiling falling off.
Following the fall of debris, people have demanded that RIMS management renovate the family planning ward to avoid any untoward incidents. They warn that even if a small portion of debris falls on new born babies, it could lead to adverse results.
