YSRC medical wing objects to threats on stopping Aarogyasri services

VIJAYAWADA: The YSRC medical wing has objected to the ultimatum given to the AP government by the Aarogyasri Network Hospitals that it would stop the Aarogyasri services because of pending bills.

Attempts to politicise the best, service-oriented Aarogyasri health scheme should not be allowed, it said.

YSRC medical wing state vice-president Dr Mehboob Sheikh and other leaders of YSRCMW said the YSRC government, led by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, was clearing the bills of the network hospitals. The ultimatum given by the network hospitals to clear all the pending bills by November 27 with a threat to stop the services is severely objectionable, they said.

The YSRCMW leaders claimed that the former Telugu Desam government had put on hold the Aarogyasri network hospital bills for upto two years. But, these network hospitals did not make such a demand to Chandrababu Naidu and gave no ultimatum to the TD government.

They expressed a suspicion that several officials were colluding with network hospitals to create a health sector crisis.

The YSRCMW leaders said the government had asked network hospitals to send patients to the Jagananna Suraksha health camps but these hospitals did not respond.
