Karimnagar: 18-year-old promising cricketer Aravelly Avanish Rao, a native of Pothugal village of Mustabad mandal in Rajanna Sircilla district, has been selected for Under-19 men’s Indian Cricket team by the BCCI.
Avanish from the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA), a wicketkeeper cum batsman, will participate in two tournaments -- the tri-series against South Africa and England to be held from December 29 to January 10 -- and the Under-19 World Cup to be held in 2024 in South Africa.
Former IT minister and Sircilla MLA K.T. Rama Rao congratulated Avanish on his fete and tweeted, “This future star hails from the Sircilla constituency of Pothugal village.”
His family members, relatives, and friends in the district along with the district cricket association and various sports bodies of the erstwhile Karimnagar district congratulated Avanish, wishing him success in the future.
