Tributes pour in for Potti Sriramulu on 71st death anniversary

Tirupati: Across Chittoor, Tirupati, Nellore, and Prakasam districts, a wave of tributes honored Amarajeevi Potti Sriramulu on his 71st death anniversary on Friday. Public and private organizations joined hands with district administrations to remember the tireless advocate for social reform and Andhra Pradesh's separate statehood.

In Ongole, district collector A.S. Dinesh Kumar led the commemorations, garlanding Sriramulu's statue at the CVN Reading Room. He lauded the leader's fight for social progress and Telugu pride, urging citizens to draw inspiration for their own selfless contributions to the state's development.

District revenue officer N. Rajasekhar garlanded Sriramulu's portrait at the district secretariat, paying his respects to the freedom fighter and champion of linguistic identity.

At the collectorate, special deputy collector Srinivasa Rao and other officials honored Sriramulu's portrait, highlighting his sacrifice for a separate Andhra Pradesh from Madras state.

In-charge district collector R. Kurmanath, along with officials, paid floral tributes at Tikkanna premises, calling upon citizens to follow Sriramulu's path of service to state and nation.

Political parties across the spectrum, including YSRC, Telugu Desam, Jana Sena, and Left parties, held their own tributes at their respective offices. Public and private organizations across the four districts also joined in the remembrance, garlanding Sriramulu's portraits and offering their respects to the legendary figure.
