Ananthapur: The Kadapa Steel Plant would be the greenest plant in the world, the Jindal Steels chairman Sajjan Jindal has said.
Sajjan recalled that the JSW steel plant in Bellary was set up with just a 1.2 million tonne capacity in 1995. Now, it has a capacity to produce 13 million tonnes of steel. “It will be the biggest plant with a 25 million tonne production in the coming three years,” he said.
The JSW chairman praised chief minister Jagan Reddy’s honest working styles and said, "During my visits to several states, many chief ministers and leaders mentioned to me about the exclusive welfare schemes of Jagan Reddy."
Jindal recalled his attachment with the YSR family and noted that “father Rajasekhar Reddy had prompted his young son Jagan” to get business experience. "Now Jagan Reddy’s exemplary work for the people and AP is helping the state to have rapid growth," he said.
He noted that AP would have four ports to power the state’s economic growth. The Kadapa steel plant would function with green energy and be the biggest and greenest project in the globe, he said.
IT and industries minister G Amarnath, deputy chief minister Amzath Basha, municipal administration and urban development minister Audimulapu Suresh, Special CS (industries and commerce) Karikal Valaven and Jammalamadugu MLA Sudheer Reddy were among those present.
Kadapa MP Avinash Reddy, YSR Steel Corporation MD Shan Mohan and JSW Group chairman Sajjan Jinda were among those who spoke.
Meanwhile, the CM has attended the wedding reception of YSRC leader M. Balarami Reddy's son at SCSR function hall here on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister blessed the couple - Ram Thejeswar Reddy and Aswini Reddy. While leaving the venue, the Chief Minister noticed an elderly woman Venkatammappa from Errabelli village and interacted with her. He also spoke to the constituency people and enquired about their wellbeing.
After offering bhoomi puja for steel plant, the CM went to Pulivendula from Jammalamadugu.
