Vijayawada: Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) has won Silver in SKOCH Awards 2022 for effective running of its ''Bio-Methanation Waste-to-Energy Plant.”
VMC Swapnil Dinakar Pundkar pointed out that the corporation had executed a bio-methanation plant, which is one of the effective low-cost wet waste processing methods. It can also increase production of electricity, he pointed out.
The commissioner explained that the plant is currently processing 16 tonnes of wet waste per day.
Swapnil Dinkar said VMC is looking for new market vendors to collect more wet waste for effective running of the bio-methanation plant and lowering waste management expenditure.
