KARIMNAGAR: On the occasion of Independence Day, Sircilla police took up the initiative of ‘Bus lo Bharosa’ to ensure the safety of women and girl students while travelling in the district by installing CCTV cameras in RTC and school buses in Rajanna Sircilla district on Tuesday.
IT minister K.T. Rama Rao launched the initiative by the Sircilla police and She-Team and appreciated them for taking up such a great measure which will ensure the safety of women travelling in buses.
Underscoring the BRS government’s welfare schemes for women, he said Telangana state police was leading the way in preventing crimes with the installation of community CCTV cameras. The special women police force and SHE teams were building confidence among women about their safety in the state, he added.
District superintendent of police Akhil Mahajan said, so far, CCTV cameras were set up in 77 RTC buses and will extend to the remaining buses of RTC and schools in the district within two weeks. The cameras will be linked to the concerned bus depots and to the police control room to keep a vigil, he said.
