Vijayawada: Water resources minister Ambati Rambabu has alleged that Telugu Desam leaders and party chief N. Chandrababu Naidu’s family members conspired to shift the jailed leader to a corporate hospital in Hyderabad from Rajahmundry prison. Hence, they are levelling baseless allegations and spreading lies about Naidu’s health conditions, the minister said the Naidu family members along with the pro-TD media made false allegations that Naidu health had deteriorated and that his weight fell by 5kg and steroids were being given.
The minister asked how Jagan Mohan Reddy was responsible if the food and medicines given to Naidu were sent by their family members.
Criticising the role of state BJP president Daggubati Purandeswari, the minister asked Purandeswari to reveal whether she was pleading for the TD or the BJP. “Being NTR's daughter, she has a habit of infiltrating whichever party is in power. She was in the Congress when it was in power and now the BJP, which is in power.”
Rambabu said skin-related dermatology issues were not new to Naidu. “He has been suffering from skin disease for decades.”
Rambabu claimed that the main agenda of the TD leaders and their family members was to get Naidu out of the central prison and take him to a corporate hospital in Hyderabad. “Why did they wait for 35 days, instead of filing a court petition seeking air-conditioning for Naidu in the prison?”
Rambabu said the ruling YSRC was very strong under the leadership of Jagan Mohan Reddy. “The party does not need to make any political gain by arresting the opposition leader. Naidu has committed a crime. After a thorough investigation and collecting evidence, the agencies have taken action against Naidu.”
