Nalgonda Cops Seize Rs 3 cr from Vehicle After Car Chase
Hyderabad: The Nalgonda police on Sunday seized Rs 3 crore of unaccounted money from two persons travelling in a car at Vadapally early on Sunday, after they ignored two attempts by the police to stop them.
Nalgonda SP K. Apporva Rao said: “Police signalled two persons who were travelling by a car to stop at the Madugulapally toll gate at 5.30 am. The driver did not stop the car and proceeded towards Vijayawada on National Highway.”
The toll gate staff informed the Miryalaguda DSP, following which the police tried to intercept the car at Idulguda traffic signal, but failed.
“We alerted the Vadapally interstate checkpost staff, who detained the car and checked it. We found that Rs 3 crore cash was kept in a box specially made under the seats. We seized the cash and shifted the two persons to Nalgonda for further probe,” the SP said.
The accused were identified as Vipul Kumar Bhai, 46, the driver and resident of Musheerabad and Amarsinh Jala, 52, a native of Gujarat. The police said they were suspecting hawala activity and registered a case under sections 336 and 179 of the IPC.
In a similar incident, Nacharam police seized Rs 2.05 lakh cash from a car during vehicle checks at Snehapuri Colony. Yamin Khan, a resident of Padmaraonagar in Secunderabad, was carrying cash without valid proof.
