Parents of EFLU students move HC, seek withdrawal of police from campus
Hyderabad: The parents of some students of the English and Foreign Language University filed a petition before the Telangana High Court seeking directions to the university Vice Chancellor and University Grants Commission (UGC) to withdraw police presence from the campus immediately and stop harassment and non-consensual filming of students by guards.
The petition stated despite a representation to the VC and other officials, the Eflu administration was not withdrawing the police from the campus.
The parents requested the court to direct the Vice Chancellor to consider their representation for reconstituting the internal complaint committee (ICC) with student representatives as per UGC regulations, to look into all complaints received from January. The petition also asked the High Court to direct the VC to exclude faculty members who have been accused of sexual harassment from ICC.
