36 Army Officers graduate from MCEME
Hyderabad: Thirty six officers graduated at the 102nd Convocation Ceremony of Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME), Secunderabad on Thursday.
Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan conferred engineering degrees on the Officers of the Degree Engineering Course DE-103 and Technical Entry Scheme Course (TES-38), at the convocation which was attended by a host of senior dignitaries including senior officers of the armed forces.
The graduating officers also put up a display of the projects they completed during their BTech course, all of which have military applications and use latest technology to provide innovative solutions.
Speaking at the event, the Governor congratulated the officers and expressed happiness that they had graduated two days after India’s victory against Chinese forces at Tawang and a day before the anniversary of India’s victory in the 1971 war against Pakistan (December 16). She also congratulated the MCEME faculty for their role in teaching and guiding the students.
Lieutenant General J.S. Sidana, Commandant, MCEME, and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of EME exhorted the officers to be constantly aware of the rapid technological challenges which are manifesting itself in the modern-day battlefield and to be prepared at all times to confront them with innovation and professional acumen.
The DG EME Trophy and GOC-in-C, ARTRAC Trophy and book prize for the best all round student officer in the DE-103 and TES 38 courses were awarded to Capt. Bishal Paul and Lt K.V. Karthik respectively, while the DG EME Gold Medals for standing first in the overall order of merit were awarded to Capt Anmol Sharma and Lt. Mayur V Patil.
