Amalapuram, Kakinada advocates boycott courts

Advocates said the act will do great injustice to common people, as titling officers will not be able to do justice in land-related cases

KAKINADA: Advocates of Kakinada and Amalapuram bar associations boycotted courts on Friday in protest against the AP Land Titling Act 2022.

Advocates of Kakinada led by their bar association president M. Visweswara Rao took out a procession from the District Court to District Collector’s office raising slogans demanding abolition of the act immediately.

They said the act will do great injustice to common people, as titling officers will not be able to do justice in land-related cases.

Advocates Kakarla Venkateswara Rao, Y. Madan Mohan, D.V. Prasad, Rajya Lakshmi and Jyothi were among those present.

Likewise, in Amalapuram, advocates took out a procession in the city and boycotted the courts. They underlined that the act will reduce powers of the civil courts.
