Bommai okays wage revision for ESCOMs and Transport
BENGALURU: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday stated to issue orders on pay revision for the employees of Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL), Electricity Supplies Companies of the State by 20 per cent. In comparison, the transport department employees would get a wage revision hike of 15 per cent.
Bommai told reporters in Bengaluru that he has okayed the pay revision and that the orders would be issued today and the order will come into effect from April.
The Chief Minister said the pay revisions have been made after the Minister for Energy and Minister for Transport held discussions with officials concerned with their respective departments and settled for the pay revision.
It may be recalled here that Transport employees had cautioned the State Government that they would go on strike from March 21 from 6 am onwards and that their strike would be for an indefinite period.
The employees of Electricity Supply Companies had also threatened to go on strike from Thursday if the State Government did not meet their demands such as pay revision among others.
