HYDERABAD: Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj discussed measures to combating voter apathy in the urban areas, and directed district election officers (DEOs) of Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Medchal and Sangareddy to come up with a campaign for the areas in and around the GHMC. At a meeting, he asked them to come up with standard operating procedures (SoP) on different aspects with respect to verification of door numbers and electors details. He reviewed the progress of instructions issued in the earlier meetings to the DEOs regarding verification of deletions to ensure that no genuine voter is left behind. The four DEO spoke about the steps to be taken on the electoral rolls, polling station proposals specifically where there were multiple booths at the same location, and other election-related work.
